TRAPPERS FALL SHORT IN REGION CHAMPIONSHIP

A historical first took place Saturday at Trapper Field as the Northwest College women’s soccer team played in, and hosted, a region titile game for the first time. However, the Trappers came up short against defending Region IX champion Laramie County Community College 1-0 to end the Northwest season.

CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND: WOMEN SET TO HOST FIRST TITLE GAME

Two goals from freshman Elliasen Lewis made the difference in the semifinals on Saturday in Rock Springs, as the Northwest College women’s team defeated Western Wyoming Community College 2-0 to advance to its first ever Region IX Championship game in Powell this Saturday.

WOMEN'S SOCCER EARNS TOP THREE SEED

Wrapping up the regular season the Northwest College women’s soccer team continued its strong form, defeating Western Nebraska Community College 4-0 before fighting back to a 2-2 draw against Laramie County Community College to earn the No. 3 seed heading into the postseason.

TRAPPER WOMEN CRUISE INTO FINAL WEEK

Another weekend full of goals at home helped the Northwest College women’s soccer team cruise past visiting Central Wyoming 9-2 on Saturday and Lamar Community College 4-0 on Monday to set up a final weekend of key matchups to wrap up the regular season.

A difficult contest in Casper was followed by a victory in Gillette for the Northwest College women’s soccer team, as the Trappers fell to the Thunderbirds 2-1 on Friday before defeating the Pronghorns 3-0 on Saturday.

NWC WOMEN DOMINATE HOME SLATE

A dominant display led to two impressive wins at home for the Northwest College women’s soccer team, as the Trappers rolled past visiting Trinidad State College 13-0 on Friday and Otero College 5-0 on Saturday at Trapper Field.

Elliasen Lewis had five goals in four games for the Trappers, including a hat trick against Northeastern in the Region IX opener.
