Northwest College recently announced its end of year recipients for annual awards, as the Trappers capped off a strong 2024-25 year.

The Trapper Athletes of the Year were women's soccer player Pressly Taylor and men's basketball player Drew Larson.

Taylor, a sophomore from Boise, Idaho, had another strong season leading at the front for the Trapper women. She finished with 14 goals and seven assists as part of a Trapper team that hosted its first ever Region IX Championship game.

Larson, a sophomore from Fort Collins, Colorado, made a significant jump for the Trapper basketball team, increasing his scoring from 9.9 to 15.2 points per game while being the Trapper leading rebounder at 7.7 per game.

The second award that was presented was the Trapper Award, which is awarded to those who are viewed as some of the hardest working athletes at the college.

For the women it went to Jai'La Porter, a sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colorado, who made a significant leap into the starting lineup for the women's basketball team, averaging 10.2 points per game after averaging 2.1 a season ago and being one of the defensive leaders for the women's team.

Alongside Porter was Preston Condie, a sophomore from Price, Utah, who doubled his points per game average to 10.7  from 5.2 points per game a year ago while serving as a vocal leader for the men's team.

The Trapper Scholarships went to a pair of freshmen who excelled for Northwest this year.

The women's scholarship went to Elliasen Lewis, a forward from Boise who had 14 goals and 13 assists while being named a third team All-American for the Trapper soccer team.

The men's scholarship went to Trey Rinn, a basketball player from Douglas, who made an impact starting late in the season for the Trappers while averaging 5.5 points per game and shooting 36.8% from 3-point range.
